The call has gone out for the jubilee marathon in the Königswinkel!

Let’s be honest – who would not rather run a marathon in an area where others go on holiday in the beautiful East Allgäu home of the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau?

Preparations for the 12th Königsschlösser Romantic Marathon to be held on 22th July 2012 are well underway and the first registrations have already fluttered through our letterbox. The Königsschlösser Romatic Marathon hosted in the East Allgäu - one of the most attractive and prettiest regions in the whole of Bavaria – is a unique run. This was confirmed once again by the run staged this year: over 800 runners went under starter’s orders in Füssen on a day with the most perfect weather conditions. Some three kilometres later, with the town left far behind, the runners could look forward to the rest of the run through the most beautiful countryside imaginable: across the Hopfer forest, round Lake Hopfensee, across the floodplain of the river Lech along the banks of Lake Forggensee, across lush green meadows and past the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, through the Schwansee woodlands and on to the final sprint for the town again.

The fantastic times from this year have set a huge challenge for the runners taking part in 2012: Titus Kosjei (Kenya) set a new track record of 2:19:08 for the men whilst Beatrice Rutto (Kenya) was the fastest woman setting a track record of 2:43:14. These are both times that the runners next year will have their work cut out to beat.

Registration fee includes:
Pasta party, medal (teams: one medal per team member), finisher-video, good quality commemorative shirt (teams: one shirt per team member, shirts cannot be guaranteed for late registrations!), davengo including the recording of a half marathon time, participation in a raffle, massage at the end of the race and a downloadable online certificate.

Please note:
T-shirts are subject to availability. In the event of all T-shirts being having been allocated, later registrations (after approximately the beginning of July) will have no automatic right to a shirt! We appreciate the cooperation of anyone registering late! For all registrations there is also no guarantee of the size of shirt you will receive. We advise registering as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Time keeping:
Via davengo easychip, gross time, net time, intermediate time at Km 21.1
(half marathon).

Showers:
Following the race showers will be available in the Ice Hockey Centre (in the ice stadium, near the finish line) as well as in the Sportstudio.

Catering:
There will be catering stations every 5 km and watering stations every 2.5 km from km 17.5.

Your own supplies:
These can be handed in at the marathon information desk up to Saturday, 21th July,
5 p.m. Please clearly mark all bottles with: name, start number, the
kilometre number that the bottle should be available at. Please note: your own supplies can only be held at points every 5 km.

N.B.: Registration closes on 09.07.2012. After this date registrations can only be accepted at the registration counter in the marquee in Morisse street:
Registrations will be accepted in person in the marquee in Morisse street on Fri. 2 p.m. –5 p.m., Sat. 10 a.m. –6:30 p.m., Sun. up to 7:30 a.m. Please ensure you have to hand the correct money for your registration fee!

Results:
The event organiser will make every effort to publish the results on the day of the marathon. A list will be displayed at the information point.

Presentation ceremony:
The presentation ceremony will take place on the day of the marathon at 12:30 p.m. in the marquee in the event arena, near the start and finish point in Kemptener Straße.

Raffle:
After the award ceremony the draw for the raffle will be made for lots of great prizes. All race participants will be entered under their start number. (Please hand in your start number once you pass the finish line)

Programme of fringe events:
We have a fun programme of music and gourmet delights lined up for everyone visiting this fun run weekend in Füssen on 21th and 22.7.2012.

Disclaimer/Withdrawal terms (please read carefully):
By registering each participant declares and recognizes his/her participation in the 12th
Königsschlösser Romantic Marathon at his/her own risk and absolves the event organiser Sportstudio Füssen from all liability. He/she declares his/her agreement that the event organiser has the right to publish the data relating to the participant that has been collated for the event or to allow said data to be published by a third party.

Each participant declares his/her medical fitness and that there are no medical issues as to why he/she should not participate in a marathon. The event organiser reserves the right to ban any participant who is visibly not fit enough to take part in the race. In such cases the participant has no right to a refund of the registration fee. Any participant who leaves the official route to take a short-cut will be disqualified.

www.firstfotofactory.com will be the official photographer for this year. Every participant will be able to have a look at his photos 24 h after the event. We will take photos on the course and at the finishing area when you pass our photopoints. The photos can be ordered in various forms such as photographs up to the size 20 x 20, postcards, mousepads, t-shirt, coffecups……...
